Greg A. Damico, Managing Member
Greg, the founder of Tax Advisors, PLLC, has over twenty-seven years of public accounting and private industry experience in federal, international, property, state/local, cost segregation and government relations tax experience. After his public accounting experience with Arthur Andersen, Moss Adams, and Coopers & Lybrand Greg became Tax Manager for Thousand Trails, Inc. In 1988 Greg became Tax Director & Vice President for Red Lion Hotels' corporate office where he was responsible for all federal, state, property and local taxes. In 1996, Greg left Red Lion to consult with other companies, and went on to form Tax Advisors, PLLC. Greg has represented clients before numerous county and state judicial bodies. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Oregon Society of CPAs, Institute of Professionals in Taxation, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, and the hotel associations in Washington, California, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Montana.
Portia J. Howard, Vice President
After over eight years of experience as a Revenue Auditor for the Washington Department of Revenue, Portia joined Tax Advisors in 2002 as a Property, State and Local Tax Consultant. Portia also brings private industry experience which includes working as a Field Consultant for the Southland Corporation and as an Operations Manager/Accountant for a local start-up. With Tax Advisors, Portia helps manage the property tax services group, working with clients and assessor's offices in analyzing and securing reduced assessed values. Portia also specializes in performing reverse sales and excise tax audits, handling tax audits, obtaining manufacturing machinery and equipment tax refunds, researching and applying for tax exemptions and cancellations, and reducing real and personal property tax valuations. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Washington in Seattle and passed the CPA exam on her first attempt.
Kent Osborne, ASA
Since 1979 Kent has provided cost segregation, valuation consulting, and expert witness services to a variety of clients. As a cost segregation analyst and certified appraiser, Kent focuses on the cost segregation and valuation of most types of real property, including the quantification of obsolescence and other conditions causing a loss in value. He is certified by the American Society of Appraisers as a Senior Appraiser in the discipline of Machinery and Technical Specialties/Cost Surveys (an expert in the cost approach). He was a Vice President with Arthur D. Little Valuation in Los Angeles where he managed the cost segregation and property tax groups. Kent has published numerous articles which are available on request.
John Curtin

Prior to joining Tax Advisors, John worked for seventeen years with a Fortune 500 travel and transportation company . With over twenty years of experience in business development, John has established long standing relationships with highly recognized leaders in industries such as manufacturing, athletic apparel/sports equipment, law firms, travel suppliers, ground and air freight, technology, food distribution, and advertising. Responsibilities with Tax Advisors will include account acquisition and retention of clients for cost segregation and property tax reduction services. John has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming and has been a resident of Vancouver for over twenty years.
Michael DeSalvo

Mike is the most recent addition to Tax Advisors, having joined at the beginning of 2011. Prior to coming to Tax Advisors, he worked as a general commercial real estate appraiser for 7 years with over 4 years employment with Colliers Valuation International (formerly FirstService PGP Valuation, Inc.). He also worked as an estimator / project manager in construction for 5 years. As a former real estate appraiser, he is an experienced and knowledgeable property valuation analyst, having appraised a broad range of properties including, but not limited to: office, retail, industrial, residential, land, public buildings, and other specialty type uses (e.g. self-storage, hospitals, mega-churches, religious facilities, schools, etc.). He brings to Tax Advisors additional property valuation expertise and works with Greg and Portia on research, tax appeals, and negotiations. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering with honors from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
